According to new reports,major PC-maker ASUS might be looking to enter the augmented reality game. CNET reported, earlier today, that ASUS is in talks with Microsoft to build their own version of the HoloLens.
The news is huge, as it's the first significant push behind augmented reality since Microsoft launched the technology earlier in January. Augmented reality is different from virtual reality experiences, in the way that it projects 3D "holograms" into your glasses, that interact with the real-world environment around you. The HoloLens isn't on the market yet but Microsoft will be releasing a developer build in 2016 for US $3,000. That in turn should eventually bring us more AR friendly apps and games, for both PC and mobile.
