Google looking at designing it's own chips for Android smartphones


Would the other, non-partner chipset makers be upset? One of the first things I'd hope Google includes in a chip design is more security at the hardware level; something BlackBerry has attempted to do with the Priv. So every flagship from every smartphone brand this year will sport a Snapdragon 810 chipset. So yeah, it actually makes a lot of sense for Google and its Android team to approach someone like Qualcomm and say, "Yo, guys, we think we have some really good ideas as to how your processors could run a hell of a lot better on Android, you know, the operating system we control".
